Best collar for small dogs.

The long antenna is not a good option for the small dog as we saw in the previous post. The antenna will drag on the ground, the dog will be stepping on the antenna and this is not good. A good collar is one that does not interfere with the dog's work. For a small but robust dog like a basset hound the T5 can be used, but with a medium or small antenna.

But the T5mini is without a doubt the best choice. More comfortable and lighter, with reduced dimensions, the T5mini is farther from the ground compared to the normal T5.

But if you only have the T5 model and want to use it on a small dog, I recommend using a collar protector.

The protector prevents damage to the equipment caused by friction with vegetation, which occurs much more when the dog is small.

After several months of continuous use this collar protector kept this T5 practically intact:

This protector has 2 layers of Nylon 600 and only the outer layer was destroyed, this ensured that the collar remained as good as new. When the outer layer breaks it's time to replace the protector. (Thanks to Valter de Joinville for sending us this photo).

But if you have the choice, see the difference, in the photo below our dog  using the T5mini.

The protector makes the collar more comfortable for the dog.

The short antenna is perfect for him. "Although he looks like he doesn't like it very much."

Looks like a bow tie.

Perfect!

T5mini.

I recommend.
